Pastor Kathye Gamble Batts

Pastor Kathye Gamble Batts was born and reared in the Jason Community of Greene County, North Carolina. She graduated in 1977 from Greene County Central High School in Snow Hill, NC. Her educational pursuit continued at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC and Lenoir Community College in Kinston, NC.

She has always loved God and the Church. Her gift of singing began in the church choir between the ages of 9 and 10. Her greatest spiritual inspiration was motivated through the life of her grandmother, the late Sister Pina Washington, who taught her to pray.

She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior on March 21, 1974. In January of 1980, she was called into the ministry to preach the Gospel. Elder Batts is a firm believer that one should wait on their calling. Thus, she fulfilled her calling on August 11, 1985, through her initial sermon.

She is recognized as a Psalmist, Preacher and Teacher. Her ministry has extended abroad and shared in various denominations through Revivals, Women Conferences, Banquets, Pastoral Anniversaries and Prayer Breakfast settings. Pastor Batts is a daughter of New Stoney Hill United Holy Church and was assigned to shepherd the flock at Central Heights United Holy Church in September of 2014. Most recently, she was appointed to succeed Dr. Howard E. McNair as pastor of New Stoney Hill United Holy Church.

She married John Batts on July 26, 1986. They have three children in their care, Yasmine, Byron and Jason, who is their biological child. They reside in Goldsboro, NC. Her employment is held with the Wayne County Public School System as an Instructional Assistant at Tommy’s Road Elementary School.

Her life is that of a servant indeed. It is exemplified through sharing her gifting with her family, the Church and people in general. Her ministry centers on Christ, His compassion and His love. She loves unity and strength within the body of Christ. Pastor Batts proclaims, “If I can help somebody, then my living shall not be in vain.” It is her desire to fulfill her calling, remain faithful, stay humble and please God in her assignment for kingdom building!

Matthew 16:18

“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
